Back-to-Back National Champions: PPM’s Commercial Team Wins Australia’s Top Property Management Award for the Second Year Running

Accepting PPM's Commercial Property Manager Of The Year trophy at the 2026 REIA National Awards For Excellence

Perth Property Management (PPM) have done it again — taking home the award for 2026 Commercial Property Manager of the Year for the second year in a row at the REIA National Awards for Excellence. Director Vaughan Copping accepted the award on behalf of the entire commercial team, building on four consecutive state and national wins as follows:

2024 — REIWA Commercial Property Manager of the Year (WA state title, 1st win)

2025 — REIWA Commercial Property Manager of the Year (WA state title, 2nd consecutive win)

2025 — REIA National Awards for Excellence: Commercial Property Manager of the Year (national title, 1st win)

2026 — REIA National Awards for Excellence: Commercial Property Manager of the Year (national title, 2nd consecutive win — ceremony: 25 May 2026)

Two state titles. Two national titles. Back-to-back at both levels.

What Are the REIA National Awards for Excellence?

The Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) National Awards for Excellence (NAFE) is the highest level of recognition available to property professionals in Australia. Each year, state-level award winners from across the country compete nationally, judged against tough criteria covering client outcomes, professional conduct, ethical practice, innovation, and measurable results over time.

Winning it once sets a team apart. Winning it back-to-back means the first win was not a peak, it was a baseline.

PPM’s commercial team has now proven that. Twice.

“This Award Belongs to the Whole Team”

Vaughan Copping has been quick to redirect the spotlight from himself to the people around him which is how he’s always approached these moments.

A licensed real estate professional and REIWA member with years of experience in commercial property management across the Perth metro and broader WA market, Vaughan leads a team that has built its reputation through consistent results for commercial property owners, not marketing.

WA Takes the National Stage

PPM’s second national title was part of a broader story of Western Australian excellence at the 2026 REIA NAFE ceremony, held on 25 May 2026. WA secured four wins across 20 national categories, strong evidence of where the state’s real estate industry sits on the national stage.

As a REIWA member agency, Perth Property Management operates under the professional standards and conduct requirements that govern all members of WA’s peak real estate body.

REIWA President Suzanne Brown spoke specifically about Vaughan’s second consecutive national title:

“This is an exceptional result and a real testament to Vaughan’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. He is always looking for ways to improve outcomes for his clients, and he certainly gets results, but this award is about more than figures.

It reflects how he achieves those results, including his clear commitment to professional development, undertaking additional training, and mentoring others to lift the standard across the sector. Vaughan is highly regarded, not just within his agency, but across the broader commercial property space.”

On WA’s broader performance at the national ceremony, Ms Brown added:

“Compared to the eastern states, WA’s real estate industry is relatively small but we continue to make a significant impact on the national stage. These awards are highly competitive, and securing four wins across 20 categories showcases the innovation, leadership and meaningful contributions of members of our industry.”

Four Awards. Two Levels. Back-to-Back at Both.

To understand what this second national title means, it helps to look at how PPM got here.

It started with the 2024 REIWA Awards for Excellence — PPM’s first state-level commercial recognition, and the first signal that their commercial division was operating at a level the industry was paying attention to.

They returned to defend that state title in 2025 — and won it again. Back-to-back REIWA titles confirmed this was no one-year result.

Representing WA at the national level, PPM then stepped onto the REIA NAFE stage and claimed Australia’s top commercial property management title for the first time in 2025.

Then they came back in 2026 and did it again.

Four consecutive major commercial property management titles. Two state. Two national. Won year after year, at every level they’ve been entered.

A Family at the Top of Australian Property Management

Step back and look at the whole agency and the picture gets even more striking.

Vaughan leads the commercial division. His wife, Kristy Copping, leads the residential team. Both have been recognised as the best in the country at what they do.

Kristy was named Australia’s top residential property manager at the REIA National Awards for Excellence (2023), making PPM one of the only agencies in Australia with national recognition across both its residential and commercial divisions.

That does not happen by accident. Their full award history, spanning multiple individual and team awards at state and national level across both divisions shows how consistently the whole agency has performed.

What This Means for Commercial Property Owners in Perth

Industry awards measure what is happening on the ground. For PPM’s commercial property clients, back-to-back national recognition comes down to one thing: the team managing their assets has been independently assessed as the best in the country at doing it.

PPM’s commercial property management team works across retail, industrial, office, and medical properties throughout Western Australia, delivering the kind of boutique, personalised service that treats every client as a person, not a number. Their work covers every aspect of managing a commercial property, from negotiating and managing leases, managing property expenses like council rates and building insurance to managing rent reviews and handling tenant relationships.

The team also coordinate maintenance, keep properties legally compliant under WA law, and produce financial reports that give owners and investors a clear picture of how their assets are performing. Back-to-back national titles don’t come from a team that cuts corners. They come from a team that treats every property and every client with the same standard and produces results that landlords and investors notice.
